1Where gift cards live
Gift cards live in Marketing Assistant: click Marketing Assistant in the sidebar, then the Gift Cards tab. There is no separate gift card menu. The four numbers on top: Outstanding balance is money still sitting on customers’ cards, then active cards, cards issued in the last 30 days, and total redeemed. Top right are the everyday actions: templates, bulk issue, sell card and quick issue. Below are recently issued cards and active templates. Owners and the front desk can both use it.

Start with a template; it sets the card face, price and rules. Click Templates, then New template. Enter a name and choose Pay X get Y: the customer pays $90 and the card holds $100. The preview on the right updates as you go. We suggest keeping Never expires. If you set days instead, the US CARD Act requires at least 1825 days, which is five years. Pick a color and save.
▶ Play from this scene3Sell a card at the front desk
When a customer wants to buy one, click Sell card. It starts on Sell (charge). Pick the template you just made, then find the customer by phone. Send gift card on the customer page opens this same window. The footer does the math: card balance $100, customer pays $90, bonus $10. Click Next to collect payment by card, cash or another method. Once paid, the card number appears. Click Tap to reveal PIN: the PIN shows only this once and can never be looked up again, so give it to the customer right away. The system also texts and emails the customer the card number, PIN and a personal link with a QR code. The buyer is the card holder; there is no delivery choice when selling in store.
